Cult classic lovers and nostalgia followers here is the next movie you need to see! Directed by none other than Steven Spielberg with screenplay by Ernest Cline and Zak Penn.

Based on the novel of the same name; also written by screen-player Ernest Cline. This Ready Player One movie carries tons of Easter eggs and references to all of our favorite classic movies, shows, video games, and comics. Let’s hop into this review!

About Ready Player One:

Let’s get what the movie is about out of the way so we can talk about the film.┬áIn the year 2045, the world has no place to go. Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) only truly feels alive is when he escapes to the OASIS, an immersive virtual universe where most of humanity spends their days.

In the OASIS, you can go anywhere, do anything, be anyone-the only limits are your own imagination. The OASIS was created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance), who left his fortune and total control of the Oasis to the winner of a three-part contest he designed to find a worthy heir.

When Wade conquers the first challenge of the reality-bending treasure hunt, he and his friends are hurled into a fantastic universe of discovery and danger to save the OASIS.

Now, let’s talk about the Easter Eggs and references. One thing, I’ll tell you. There is no limits in the OASIS. A Player can be who they want to be. Whether it’s the Iron Giant, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, or even Lara Croft the Tomb Raider.

As you expected these things are within the film. Of course, with other additions like Chucky, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Gundam, Ryuk, Spawn, Spartans from Halo, and many many more!

The references are endless; from Thundercats to Back to the Future to Star Wars! If you are a fan of pop culture this movie is for you.

Easter Eggs

Not only does the movie have tons of Easter Eggs and References; it holds your attention with it’s amazing story, conflicts, stunning visuals, and of course phenomenally brilliant performances.

If you are looking for the next cult class to stand decades from now; then you’ve found it.

Ready Player One is one of the best movies of 2018 so far. Of course, with terms like geeks and nerds being reinvented into today’s world; this just shows how far we’ve come.

I recommend seeing this Steven Spielberg instant classic for yourself; as soon as humanly possible! Tell me, what did you think of the film? Did you like how this film is basically a Where’s Waldo but with cult classic references?
