Chinese New Year Tassel Earrings
Chinese New Year is almost here. For me that means getting some Chinese food. Especially some noodle for good luck and longevity. Eat those noodles in style with these Chinese New Year Tassel earrings. Learn how to make the tassel earring right here.
What if I told you that you could make these tassel earrings for under $5. Each color of embroidery thread is $.56 and then there is the earring pieces and gold embroidery sewing thread.
Once you have the earring piece and gold thread they can be used to make several pairs of earrings. The one pack of red makes a tassel for each ear. Hence you only need one color of each to make a tassel for each earring.
Items For Chinese New Year Tassel Earrings:
- red embroidery thread
- gold embroidery thread
- white embroidery thread
- 2 earring hooks
- gold sewing embroidery thread
- 1 sewing needle
- scissors
How To Make Tassel Earrings with Video:
Once all the supplies are round up fold the thread in half and cut. Using one of the threads tie it around one of the halves. Fold that in half and wrap the gold thread around the top to make the tassel. Then tie it off. Watch the video below to show you how!
Once your done with the first color repeat and do the same for each color tassel you’d like to have on your earring. We did gold, red, and whet for Chinese new year colors.
We wrapped the ends with the gold thread like you see above and below in the video. After the tassels are completed thread the needle with the gold thread and knot it off. Pop the needle directly through the center of each tassel layering them per the colors.
Pull the thread through and top of the last tassel and loop. Loop twice to secure it. Once it’s secure cut the thread. Open the hook on the bottom of the earring and hook to the top tassel. Your tassel earrings are now ready to be worn!
